THE Chicken Tale

I'm remembering about a year ago, I made a BD cake for a surprise party for Corey's step-father Kenny. He shares a BD with my son, Colton on Ground Hog Day. That day, I had the cake which was almost done, sitting on the washer for I knew better than to leave it out on the counter where little fingers would get poky happy. I THOUGHT it was safe. Well, as the afternoon rolls along, I put Grady down for a nap. Or was at least trying. A couple of my boys came upstairs with a couple of chickens, one whom was hurt (and bleeding so they say). I immediately reminded them that chickens do NOT belong in the house. It's not unusual for them to bring in chickens, or least back then! They complied and went back down stairs. A few moments later, the other son came up to tell me that I'd better come down stairs. I, at this time was irritated. Grady was having a hard time falling asleep with all the commotion and he had to get a nap so we could leave later. I asked him what was so important that I had to come NOW? He replies "well----it has something to do with the cake." I got even more irritated (if it was at all possible) and grumpily followed him downstairs. When I arrived at the scene of the crime, I found a precious cake that I had spent hours on, (even though it wasn't done) with foot tracks. I could not believe my eyes and commanded, (yes, I do lose my temper) for the guilty party to explain "What in the he** happened?" I didn't hardly wait for an answer and scolded them on how they knew better and made them go outside. I then locked the door behind them and said I'd let them in when I was not so mad. I posted a pic of the beauty with the tracks and after. Yes, I still used the cake. I know that sounds gross, but I cut off all of the affected parts. You may wonder why I took a pic of it, but I knew I would laugh someday. My boys have long forgotten, but would probably remember easily if asked. But, they haven't brought a chicken in the house ever since!! I wouldn't know why.......LOL

New FUN

Levi on new 110
Colton

Wylie

We have a new fun for the boys at our house. (Corey included!) The boys' Uncle Dusty was kind enough to give the boys their old 110. For those of you who don't know what that is.....it's a motorcyle. Yep, I can't believe it myself. The boys then asked Corey to take them to get helmets in Con one day and would you believe, they ended up bringing home ANOTHER one?? Yep, now we have two of them. I was at work while all of this transpired, mind you and didn't have a say in it. The boys did pay for the cycle and the helmets. I've been putting off this situation for quite a while now. The boys have been begging for a couple of years now. We have cousins who have cycles. We've already had a few crashes, but nothing serious. I'm a city girl who grew up with a sister. All of this boy stuff, is well, different! But I sure do enjoy having boys and wouldn't have it ANY other way.

More new fun

We have a new family fun at our house. Rock Band!! Colton's BD was this week and this is what he got from us and my parents. Colton thinks he's the best drummer by far, and Levi thinks he's the best guitarist around. Corey on the other hand, has played until late the last few nights! He's getting pretty good on the guitar too. I am the vocalist at times, IF that's what you want to call it. I sound like a wanna be! It sure is fun to have the whole family playing together. Wylie tries to play, but just isn't quite old enough to be able to keep up. Grady just runs around and asks if it's his turn yet on the drums! I would highly recommend this for good quality family fun. I'll try to post a pic soon.
