The What If:

WHAT IF:
we as christians actually stood up for what we believed?
we actually got out of our comfort zone?
we didn't care so much about what people thought of us?
we were actually 'cool' if we did do the above?
we died tomorrow?  Would anyone miss you?
you lost everything?  Would you still have a grateful heart?
you kept a journal of thanks?  Would you see all the blessings around you?
you took just a few minutes a day to pray EVERYDAY for your children?
you felt so captivated by all of your sins?
you were free from captivation?  (you can be!)
you didn't depend on others for your peace, joy, happiness or sense of self worth?
we quit playing God....for just one day?
we actually acted on our 'good intentions'?
we loved people for who they were, not who we want them to be?
my boys didn't have to sock hunt every morning?
you actually are what you eat?  :o)      (right now i'm a candy corn!)
 cheese was never invented??
I wasn't so random??  Maybe we'd all be better off??  :o)

What are some of your what if's.....please share with me in my comments!

The Merry-Go-Round

Everyone knows how much fun a merry-go-round can be.  Or there might  be a few who know how fun a merry-go-round might not be.  Sometimes you fall off and bones are broken or bruises are made.  I was pondering (yes, again) how life is sometimes like a merry-go-round (m-g-r).  It seems the younger you are~the slower it goes.  When you are young, you don't have the strength to get it going fast.  So, when you do fall off, it might not hurt as bad.  Then again, it depends on who you're playing with!  As you age and get stronger, this m-g-r (life) gradually goes faster and faster.  Right about now I feel like I'm spinning really fast.  Although falling off at this point would really hurt, I still have the energy to get back on.  And my playmates (my family) are really fun to play with.  The ride can get bumpy sometimes and you want to get off, but if you do you'll miss out on this game of life.   The activities that keep you busy are what spin the m-g-r faster and faster.  So to be safe, it's worth taking away activities so you can slow down the ride and actually enjoy the ones you enjoy the most.
The center of the m-g-r is what holds it up.  If you didn't have a solid center core~made up of strong, durable metal, it wouldn't be able to hold itself up.  It made me realize that we all need a center core also.  If we didn't have something solid, powerful, secure or stable we would probably not be able to withstand the ride (life).  Everyone actually needs the same center core, but not everyone uses the same exact model.  For some it's power.  Others the need to 'fit in'.  Money.  Control.  The list could go on forever.  There is a book that says where to find the best core.  The amazing part is, the core is not even for sale.  You can't earn it.  It's a free gift that anyone can have.  No strings attached.  Have you figured out yet what this center core is?   This core is our daily faith and relationship with our Savior.  Having the wisdom and knowledge of God in our hearts to live this life with us.  To guide us.  To hold us up when our m-g-r is spinning out of control.  And boy can they spin fast!  All other cores will break when the speed or weight gets too heavy.  They are weak.  God is the only core that can handle anything.  Imagine the most powerful, knowledgeable, forgiving entity as our center core.    For "if God is for us, who can be against us??"  Romans 8:31b   We have to intentionally make a choice of how fast or m-g-r will go AND what our center core will be.  What is your center core made up of??

James 3:17 NIV  "But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.  "
